Luxury Resort - Jasper, Alberta - CAD $70,000 per year

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Chief Steward for a luxury resort in Jasper, Alberta. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this is a hands-on management role responsible for leading the stewarding team and overseeing all back-of-house kitchen operations to support the culinary team in delivering exceptional service. Proven management experience is required for this role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Directly supervise all stewarding employees and supervisors, including training, performance management, scheduling, and task delegation
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Work closely with outlet leaders to ensure adequate par levels of china, silverware, and glassware are maintained
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and identify purchase or equipment requirements
- Oversee correct usage and safe handling of all chemicals in line with WHMIS and health and safety standards
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and follow up on repairs
- Play an active role in recruiting, orienting, and onboarding recent team members

WHAT YOU BRING

- Minimum 4 years of proven leadership and supervisory experience in a Food and Beverage or stewarding operation; management experience is required
- Strong knowledge of large-scale stewarding department operations
- WHMIS certification required
- Computer proficiency including Excel, Word, and email
- Highly organized, results-driven, and able to work effectively under pressure
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management is a definite asset
- Must have valid Canadian work authorization - no visa sponsorship available
