Maternity Term – September 21, 2026 to March 3, 2028 Part-time (.6 EFT) (23.25 hours per week)

$43.079 to $54.052 (doq)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Prevention, Testing and Wellness the job is a term (maternity) part-time, 46.5 hours per two-week period (including holiday pay hours).

The Community

Developer will be responsible for working with Nine Circles community members and other community stakeholders to design, implement and coordinate programs and activities which promote healing through community connections. The Program is intended to connect community members with each other, support community capacity building and organizing and promote fun, belonging, healing and wellness . Nine Circles’ regular work day falls between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required.

The position is classified as Health and Social Services Provider (MAHCP). A comprehensive benefit package is provided as per employee eligibility via HEB Manitoba.

This position is project funded through the Winnipeg Foundation to June 30, 2029.

Qualifications

Education
- Completion of a recognized university degree, such as Bachelor of Social Work, bachelors of kinesiology, sociology, community health, public health, psychology
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Ability to be kind, welcoming and compassionate and provide a creative,



nonjudgemental approach to the work
- Knowledge and experience of cultural safety, trauma informed approaches and harm reduction principles and practice.
- Understanding of community development theories, approaches, and best practices.
- Knowledge of and experience working with people who use drugs, experience houselessness and other systemic barriers
- Knowledge and experience in the areas of sexual health, mental health and strength and community-based approaches and practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Downtown/west Broadway community and community resources.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with Indigenous people in terms of the historical context, traditions, teachings as well as the unique barriers Indigenous people face in Winnipeg
- Demonstrated group facilitation skills
- Demonstrated Project Management and fund development skills
- Ability to use a strength-based approach in working with community members
- Community organizing and coalition building skills
- Demonstrated boundary setting and self-care management skills
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, de-escalation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Experience with computers and keyboarding

Assets:
- Bilingualism or multilingualism is an asset
