Taproot Community Support Services is seeking casual Community Support Workers to provide critical support for youth in Victoria, British Columbia. Engage with youth through personalized support plans and facilitate growth in a safe environment. In this role, you will work with clients on their Individual Support Plans, addressing complex emotional and behavioral needs. The position is part time or on-call, allowing flexibility while supporting youth ages 13-18 in a trauma-informed setting.
Experience with challenging behaviors and effective de-escalation techniques is preferred. Key Responsibilities:
- Support youth with emotional and social needs
- Implement de-escalation strategies during crises
- Help clients develop life skills at home
- Model healthy relationships and set boundaries
- Transport youth to various appointments and activities Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in youth care or related fields
- Diploma in Child and Youth Care or equivalent
- Valid BC Driver’s Class 5 License
- CPR/First Aid and non-violent crisis intervention certification
