Role Description The Construction Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, ON. This role is responsible for performing field surveys for construction layout, capturing site data for as-builts, and supporting 3D modeling and 3D scanning workflows. Day-to-day tasks include setting out control points, verifying dimensions and elevations, checking floor flatness, and assisting with earthwork quantity calculations.

The Construction

Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure measurements are accurate, plans are followed, and safety standards are upheld. The role also involves maintaining survey equipment, documenting findings, and preparing clear reports and drawings for project stakeholders.





Qualifications

- Robust planning skills, including the ability to organize survey activities, interpret project drawings, and coordinate with site teams.
- Experience with inspection tasks, such as verifying layout, checking floor flatness, and confirming work against design specifications.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles related to site grading, structures, and earthwork measurement.
- Background in building surveying, including construction layout, as-builts, and measurement for multi-trade environments.
- Understanding of construction safety practices and commitment to following all site safety protocols and regulations.
- Proficiency with survey instruments and related software (e.g., total stations, GNSS, laser scanners, and data processing tools).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills in field conditions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse site and office teams.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in geomatics, civil engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various sites within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
