Position Summary

The Child Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, leading, and evaluating licensed child care programs and services at our Peterborough location. As a new role, the Coordinator will play a key part in establishing a positive, secure, and inclusive environment for children, families, staff, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the licensed child care programs.
- Provide regular feedback and input to the Manager.
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education requirements, and organizational policies.
- Supervise, support, and coach child care staff to ensure quality programming and service delivery
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Support enrollment, registration, attendance tracking, and parent communication.
- Monitor program quality and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling,



and operational planning.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in licensed child care, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry of Education requirements, and best practices in early learning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the last 6-months)).
