Lead Finance for a Growing Group of CPA Firms Renaissance Group is a growing organization of accounting firms and related businesses serving entrepreneurs, professionals, and privately held companies across Canada and internationally.

Controller to lead our finance function, strengthen reporting processes, and support strategic growth initiatives. Reporting directly to the Partners, this is a senior leadership role that combines financial management, operational oversight, strategic planning, and team development. This is also a hands-on position requiring a strong technical accountant who is comfortable managing complex accounting matters, intercompany reconciliations, consolidations, and month-end close activities while leading the broader finance team.
Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and finance operations across multiple entities within the group. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial models. Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and business decisions.
Monitor financial performance and recommend opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Multi-Entity & Intercompany Accounting Oversee accounting for multiple operating companies, holding companies, and related entities. Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, allocations, eliminations, and consolidation entries.
Maintain consistency of accounting policies and procedures across all entities. Support corporate restructuring, acquisitions, and integration of new businesses as required.
Monitor firm billing, work-in-progress (WIP), accounts receivable, collections, and realization metrics.
Develop reporting and dashboards to track key performance indicators, utilization, profitability, and cash flow. Identify process improvement opportunities and implement systems that increase efficiency and scalability. Compliance, Controls & Risk Management Ensure compliance with payroll, GST/HST, corporate reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and governance procedures. Coordinate banking relationships, and other professional service providers. Manage working capital, cash flow, and financial risk across the organization.
CPA designation required. Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing finance or accounting teams. Strong experience in multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting.
Demonstrated expertise with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
Experience within a CPA firm, skilled services organization, or multi-company environment is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of payroll, GST/HST, and regulatory compliance.
Advanced
Excel and financial systems proficiency;
experience with ERP and practice management software is an asset. Senior leadership position with direct access to Partners and decision-makers. Flexible hybrid work arrangements. Some travel between offices may be required. #
