GPM Music Group is a fast-growing music marketing startup based in Calgary. We work with artists across all genres, helping them grow through playlist marketing, paid meta ads, influencer campaigns, and creative content. Right now, we’re a small but highly focused team and we’re scaling quickly. Our goal is to grow our team with loyal and likeminded individuals and build one of the most respected music marketing companies in the space.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative strategist who loves music of all genres, understands digital marketing, and is excited to work in an environment where creativity is everything. You’ll be hands-on writing copy, filming ads (which includes you being on camera), doing extensive market research, building our brand on social media, building tons of different ad creatives and diving into email marketing. You will be playing a key role in the day-to-day execution of our artist outreach marketing systems and bringing new clients in.
This is a high-impact role with potential to grow and gain more responsibility and creative control. This role is for someone who wants to get in early, learn, and grow into a leadership position as the company advances.
Overview
This role sits at the heart of our campaigns. You’ll be responsible for developing high-converting creative concepts and scripts and also appearing in videos to execute them.
You’ll help turn marketing insights into:
- TikTok-style ads
- Instagram Reels
- UGC-style performance content
- Educational/music marketing content
- Trend-based reactive content
This is not just a behind-the-scenes strategy role. We need someone comfortable on camera who can act, present, and deliver scripts naturally.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop creative angles and concepts for paid and organic campaigns
- Script short-form video content for artists and music marketing offers
- Appear in videos delivering scripts, acting, and presenting
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and media buyers
- In depth research trends in: music culture, short-form content formats, and pop culture & internet trends
- Translate marketing insights into scalable creative ideas
- Support lifecycle marketing efforts, including email and retention campaigns
- Test and iterate new hooks, formats, and messaging
- Help shape the creative voice of campaigns across multiple artists
- Mentor and support junior creatives, helping them elevate execution and develop strategic thinking.
- Work closely with our other team members including editors to bring your vision to life
- Translate performance data and qualitative feedback into actionable creative improvements.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends, cultural shifts, and creative formats that move the needle.
- Head not just paid media, but also our organic social media channels across multiple platforms
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Comfortable and confident on camera
- Ability to act, present, and recite scripts naturally
- Understanding of what makes content convert (not just look good)
- Strong familiarity with digital marketing and paid social ecosystems
- Strong proficiency with Meta Ads is non-negotiable
- Google Ads familiarity is a plus
- Basic understanding of email marketing and retention strategy (Klaviyo experience is a strong asset)
- Awareness of current pop culture and internet trends
- Solid communication and collaboration skills
Music Industry Alignment (Important)
You should have
- A genuine interest in the music industry
- Awareness of how independent artists operate
- Understanding of: artist branding, fan growth, streaming culture, and social media for musicians
Bonus if you’ve:
- Worked with artists before
- Created music-related content
- Been an artist, creator, or performer yourself
Tools & Platforms (Preferred)
- Meta Ads (strong proficiency required)
- TikTok Ads (familiarity is a plus)
- Klaviyo or other email marketing platforms
- Google Ads experience is a plus

- Experience with the creative strategy process (research/concept analysis → writing copy → filming ads → running campaign and launching creatives)
- A basic understanding of the music industry and music marketing
Compensation & Work Structure
- $4,400/month, with room to grow early, as the company grows
- In-person (occasionally remote) (Calgary-based)
- Full-time role with long-term growth potential
