Responsibilities

- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, to deliver freight to various locations with precision and care
- Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts and heavy machinery, ensuring proper handling of all cargo
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to maintain safety standards and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Verify delivery orders, complete necessary documentation, and obtain signatures upon successful delivery
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems and route planning tools to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws
- Assist with warehouse operations when not on delivery routes, including freight movement and inventory organization




- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues swiftly

Skills

- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy vehicles
- Certification or experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment used for freight handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting goods securely
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the go
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and delivery verification
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with team members and customers
