Director of Operations Discover the vibrant West Moberly First Nations community, nestled 32 km northwest of Chetwynd, BC, at the serene west end of Moberly Lake. Join us as the Director of Operations and be the driving force behind the success of our Nation! As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for these key functions: Partner with Department Managers in Housing, Culture, Health, Education, and Finance/Administration to develop and execute strategic departmental work plans.
Provide inspiring leadership and mentorship, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance management.
Community Relations
Proactively share insights from community engagement to strategically inform WMFN initiatives. Establish yourself as a community leader, enhancing WMFN’s influence and credibility. Represent WMFN externally with key stakeholders, networks, and media to amplify our mission and reach.
Programs and Administration Develop and implement our annual work plan and budget, steering our administrative vision. Ensure seamless program implementation by adhering to accounting, funding, administrative, and budget procedures approved by the Chief and Council. Monitor programs and facility management,
guaranteeing compliance with all necessary regulations.
A successful leader at WMFN thrives on engagement and understands the unique importance of community. Ideally, you have experience working within a First Nations community, with a deep appreciation for cultural practices and a commitment to fostering a sustainable future for its members. 5-10 years of management experience in public service or First Nation service delivery. A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Public Administration.
Proven success in leading teams and managing budgets. Strong project management skills with a track record of meeting objectives. Proficiency in administrative tasks, Microsoft Office, budgeting, proposal writing, reporting, and networking.
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. An understanding of and willingness to learn about First Nations communities, their members, and lifestyle.
