The Supply Chain

Director is accountable for the leadership, governance, and execution of all supply chain, procurement, contracts, logistics, materials management, supplier quality, and expediting activities. The role is responsible for developing and implementing integrated supply chain strategies that align with project execution plans, client objectives, commercial frameworks, and project delivery schedules. Operating within an EP/EPC/EPCM environment, the Supply Chain Director provides strategic leadership from early study phases (FEL/FEED) through execution and project closeout, ensuring that supply chain activities support safe, predictable, cost-effective, and schedule-driven project outcomes.

This position plays a critical leadership role in enabling project success through early market engagement, long-lead equipment strategy, collaborative contracting models, supplier relationship management, Indigenous participation, and proactive risk mitigation.

The Supply Chain

Director serves as the senior interface between project leadership, engineering, construction,



clients, OEMs, contractors, logistics providers, and strategic suppliers globally.

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

Develop and implement project-specific supply chain strategies aligned with EPCM execution models and client objectives. Lead supply chain planning across FEL-2, FEL-3, FEED, execution, commissioning, and project closeout phases. Establish procurement and contracts strategies that optimize commercial outcomes while protecting schedule certainty and project margins.

Provide functional and technical leadership for all supply chain functions including: Procurement Supplier quality surveillance Logistics and transportation Materials management Supply chain systems and reporting Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, procurement activities, and construction sequencing. Support bid development and proposals by contributing supply chain execution strategies, market intelligence, pricing strategies, and risk assessments. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Sales and Project Delivery teams to understand requirements and develop differentiated and integrated Supply Chain strategies and execution solutions for clients Promote collaborative contracting principles to improve project delivery outcomes and reduce adversarial behaviors.

Develop commercial frameworks that align owner, EPCM, contractor, and supplier objectives. Facilitate early contractor engagement (ECI) processes to support constructability reviews, schedule validation, and risk mitigation. Lead strategic supplier and contractor relationship management initiatives.

Support dispute avoidance and proactive commercial resolution strategies.

Project

Controls & Risk Management Integrate supply chain execution into overall project controls, schedule,



and cost management frameworks.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with: Global logistics constraints Supplier performance Develop procurement risk registers and mitigation plans. Monitor procurement progress against critical path milestones and project KPIs. Support forecasting, cash flow planning, and commitment tracking.

Lead and mentor multidisciplinary supply chain teams across multiple projects and locations. Build high-performing teams focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building within the supply chain organization.

The Supply Chain Director Regularly Interfaces

With Project Directors Commercial & Legal Teams Client Supply Chain Representatives Logistics Providers Indigenous and Local Businesses Finance and Project Controls Teams Quality and HSE Teams Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Commerce, or related discipline. MBA or postgraduate qualification considered an asset. Minimum 16 –20 years of supply chain experience within EPCM, mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, or other major capital projects.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing large, complex project supply chain organizations.

Experience in both EPCM contractor and owner/operator environments preferred. International project experience across North America and global markets considered a strong asset.
