About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable casual/on-call/part time Dump Truck Driver with a minimum class 3 unrestricted licence to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites in a timely manner while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires an understanding of commercial driving regulations, the Comox Valley area and the ability to operate a tandem axle dump truck safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a dump truck to transport construction/demolition materials to and from designated locations.
- Conduct and record pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition for the current and following day.
- Adequately maintain the vehicle by greasing and washing as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities, types of materials transported and trip times.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and site requirements.
- Adhere to all traffic laws,



safety regulations, and company policies while on the road.

Qualifications:

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class 3 unrestricted minimum with air brake endorsement with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to operate a 13-speed eaton fuller manual transmission smoothly.
- Reliable vehicle to get to the yard where the dump truck is parked.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar vehicles.
- Good communication skills, speaking positively, and effectively as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety in all aspects of driving and operations.

**This position is variable in terms of hiring on as a Sub-Contractor or Employee depending on candidates requirements. ***Wage is negotiable upon experience.
