What do we need from you?
Early Childhood Educators at Kepler Academywill primarily lead children in activities to stimulate and develop theirintellectual, physical, and emotional growth and ensure their security andwell-being.
You will also organize and implement programs for children rangingfrom infant care up to out-of-school-care.
As an Early Childhood Educator, we are lookingfor individuals with a passion for shaping young minds. You will play anintegral role in families lives by providing an enriched experience forchildren.
What will you do?
- Developand implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical,cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Leadactivities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, playing games,taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities toexpress creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music andphysical activity
- Planand maintain an environment that protects the health, security andwell-being of children
- Assessthe abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress orproblems with parents and other staff members
- Observechildren for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems andprepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guideand assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing andtoilet habits
- Establishand maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and communityservice providers working with children
- Mayplan and organize activities for school-age children in child-careprograms before and after regular school hours
- Maysupervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators andearly childhood educator assistants
- Classroommaintenance and light cleaning duties required
- Mayconduct diaper changes and support with handwashing and hygiene

- Abilityto lift and carry children and equipment up to 50 pounds
- Abilityto engage in active play, including bending, kneeling, and sitting on thefloor
- Abilityto work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
Required qualifications to work at KeplerAcademy:
- ChildDevelopment Certificate issued in the Province of Alberta, Level 1, 2 or 3
- ValidStandard Child Care / Level C First Aid certificate
- VulnerableSector Police Information Check issued within the past 6 months
- Previousexperience in childcare is considered as an asset
- Knowledgeof child development principles and best practices in early childhoodeducation
- Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills
- Abilityto work collaboratively with a diverse team of childcare professionals
