Education and Programs Ambassador (Multiple sites;
Education and Programs Ambassadors Part-time, Contract (September 2026 - March 2027) The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to problem gambling prevention. For more than 40 years, we have worked to reduce gambling risk by creating and delivering cutting-edge awareness and information programs in Ontario and around the world. We work with priority populations, including youth, young adults, ethnocultural populations, and the public, to educate people on the risks of gambling, how to mitigate those risks, and how to access support.
As an Education and Programs Ambassador , you will be the face of RGC's campus outreach programs. You will travel to colleges, universities, and community events across Ontario, facilitating interactive activations that encourage students—particularly student-athletes, sports fans, and the broader student population—to participate, think critically, and engage in conversations about confidence, uncertainty, prediction, decision-making, sports culture, and the growing role of sports betting and online gambling in young adults' lives. Through engaging, sports-inspired experiences, you will help participants explore common misconceptions about confidence, knowledge, and control, while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about gambling-related risks and informed decision-making.

Purpose-driven work that creates positive change for individuals and communities Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism in everything we do Facilitate Interactive Campus Activations: Lead engaging sports-inspired educational experiences that encourage participation, spark curiosity, and help students explore key concepts through interactive gameplay and conversation.
Travel Ontario : Extensive travel throughout the province, including overnight and multi-day stays (with accommodations provided). Share driving duties in an SUV or minivan with some tight timelines and over long distances - including winter conditions. This includes physical tasks like lifting and moving activation materials (with assistance when required).
Engage with the Public: Proactively approach event attendees, capture attention in busy event environments, and encourage participation through games, contests, giveaways, and conversation.
Capture Content: Take high-quality photos and videos (sometimes appearing in them) to document event activations.
Represent the Brand: Act as a professional ambassador of the organization at all times. Dependable, organized, and take pride in delivering high-quality work. GTA-Based: Must be based within the Greater Toronto Area and can coordinate travel/meet-up locations with fellow education ambassadors. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
Experience engaging post-secondary students or young adults Experience participating in or leading campus activities such as athletics, recreation, orientation, residence life, student organizations,
leadership programs, or event planning and delivery Customer service, event staffing, experiential marketing, or promotional experience Public speaking, facilitation, teaching, coaching, or outreach experience Interest in sports, athletics, student engagement, education, health promotion, prevention, and community outreach initiatives Advanced English speaking and reading skills (required) French bilingualism is a strong asset . We are hiring a team of nine (9) Education Ambassadors and are seeking at least two (2) bilingual English/French ambassadors. Additional language skills are considered an asset, particularly East Asian and South Asian languages that reflect the diversity of Ontario's post-secondary student population.
CONTRACT DETAILS Contract Period: shifts range from 5–10 hours per day depending on event needs.
Schedule: Non-traditional schedule with shifts scheduled in advance. Work may occur any day of the week, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel, depending on event and activation requirements.
Compensation: $25/hour, plus per diems and paid travel time. Training is paid. Please let us know if you require accommodation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). RGC does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to make or inform hiring decisions.
However, we do use an external applicant tracking system (ATS) to help manage applications efficiently; our ATS may apply automated filters or sorting functions, but all applications are reviewed and evaluated by human recruiters. RGC may also use AI to help with transcribing interviews, but humans will be recruiting, interviewing and connecting with applicants. Applications must be received by Sunday, August 9, 2026.
