Electrical Engineer – Renewables (Full-Time, Permanent)

A growing renewable energy company is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Renewables to support the development, engineering, execution and optimization of utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. This role is highly technical and execution-driven, supporting projects from early‑stage development through detailed design, construction, commissioning and operations. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, EPC contractors, utilities, consultants and equipment suppliers to ensure projects are technically optimized, bankable and delivered according to schedule and budget.

Development &

• Technical Support Support technical development activities for utility‑scale renewable energy projects Review and optimize project electrical designs during development stages Support feasibility studies, interconnection evaluations and technical due diligence Support technical risk assessments and development strategies for solar, wind and BESS projects Electrical Design &

• Engineering Review and support detailed electrical design for utility‑scale solar PV plants, battery energy storage systems, utility‑scale wind farms, and hybrid renewable energy facilities Review single‑line diagrams, collector systems, protection and control systems, MV/HV substations, grounding systems, SCADA and communication systems, turbine electrical interfaces and collector networks Coordinate with EPC contractors and engineering consultants to ensure design optimization and compliance Support compliance with AESO requirements, utility standards, grid code requirements and wind turbine generator requirements Assist with commissioning and energization planning Procurement &

• Technical Evaluation Support procurement and technical evaluation of major electrical equipment, including inverters, wind turbines, transformers, MV/HV equipment,



BESS systems and SCADA systems Review supplier technical documentation and factory acceptance testing procedures Participate in vendor selection and technical negotiations Construction &

• Commissioning Support Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases Review RFIs, technical submittals and field design changes Support QA/QC activities, testing and commissioning procedures, energization coordination and performance verification Coordinate with field teams and EPC contractors to resolve technical issues efficiently Technical Due Diligence &

• Optimization Support technical due diligence for project acquisitions and financing Identify opportunities for technical and commercial optimization Work closely with development, EPC and construction teams, finance, asset management, external consultants and utilities Provide practical, solution‑oriented engineering support aligned with project delivery objectives Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum 5–10+ years of experience in renewable energy, power systems, utility‑scale infrastructure and electrical design and construction Technical Expertise Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PVCase / PVFarm, PVSyst, WindPRO or equivalent wind modeling software and AutoCAD Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes, utility standards and renewable energy integration requirements Commercial Mindset Ability to operate in a rapid‑paced project environment Comfortable balancing technical rigor with project execution requirements Experience working with EPC contractors, utilities, turbine suppliers and multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines Experience working with international teams and suppliers is an asset Opportunity to play a key role in building a North American renewable energy platform Collaboration with international leadership and capital partners Competitive base salary Long‑term growth opportunity within the company platform
