CSTCanada Coal Limited (CST Coal) is seeking an Entry-Level EnvironmentalTechnologist to join our Resource Management Team. This position is responsiblefor performing field, laboratory and office functions which support delivery ofthe multi-faceted environmental program. The members of the Resource ManagementTeam at CST Coal works together to remain compliant with all legislative andpolicy requirements governing its’ Approval to operate issued under theEnvironmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA).

Thedepartment of Resource Management at CST Coal is responsible for a variety of functions that contribute to mining coal safely and responsibly. ACCOUNTABILITY

Reportingdirectly to the Superintendent of Resource Management, the successful candidatemay be accountable for assisting contractors, consultants, casual labor,students and/or on-site logistics as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

· Assist withreclamation work which could involve supervising contractors, assessing soildepths, GIS data collection and tree planting/seeding.

· Conduct reclamationmonitoring on past reclamation.

AirProgram (EPEA Section 4.2)

- Completing Inspections of ourcontinuous air monitoring equipment;
- Collecting and processing datafrom the continuous air monitoring equipment;
- Collecting samples andcompiling data for report submission.

MineWastewater (EPEA Section 4.3)
- Conduct inspections on pondsand other mine wastewater structures, and collect samples as needed.
- Maintain and preform calibrationsof all laboratory equipment.
- Compiling and reviewing datafor submission of monthly and annual reports
- Assist with water management bysupervising maintenance and planting wetland plants.
- Responsible for ensuringadherence to established quality assurance and control of acceptedlaboratory practices.
- Responsible for operating,organizing and maintaining field equipment.





Soiland Groundwater Monitoring (EPEA Section 4.6 and 4.7)
- Participate in the inspection,collection and analysis of groundwater monitoring stations, as well as theprocessing and compiling of collected data.

· Responsible for ensuring adherence to established qualityassurance and control of accepted laboratory practices.

· Responsible for operating, organizing and maintaining fieldequipment.

AdditionalDuties

- Assisting other staff in thecollection of field samples, data entry, reviewing and comparing sitespecific technical data, and researching applicable regulatoryrequirements.
- Responsible for performingother related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Aminimum two-year technical diploma in Environmental Science, Wildlife orResource Management or related field is required.

Experience

Thisis an entry level position with a great chance to gain experience in manydifferent environmental disciplines including water, air, wildlife, reclamation,waste management, and more. No prior environmental field experience working inan industrial, government or scientific community is necessary, however priorexperience would be considered an asset. On the job training and feedback willbe provided to help you be successful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS





Theselected candidate will need to be able to:

- Handle loads over 20 kg. inweight
- Regularly engage in physicalexertion, i.e. shovel, lift and/or carry heavy materials
- Concentrate for over 60consecutive minutes
- Work in environmental extremesfor over 60 consecutive minutes
- Sit for over 60 consecutiveminutes

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Thesuccessful candidate will be joining our team with CST and working on site atour Grande Cache Coal Mine. The commute from Grande Cache is approximately 20km on Highway 40 North. Accommodations through CST Coal may be available or amonthly living allowance will be given to assist in finding your ownaccommodation.

Thechosen candidate will be split between an office setting (approx. 30% of thetime) and outdoors (approx. 70% of the time). Due to the nature of the minesite there is potential to be exposed to fire, wildlife, smoke, fumes, odors orchemicals associated with laboratory analysis and rough and steep terrain. Occasionaltravel may be required outside the work area in order to attend conferences,courses or meetings.

Asa condition of employment, the incumbent is required to comply with pre and post-employmentdrug and alcohol testing as per the Drug and Alcohol Policy. As required,personal protective equipment will include the use of an approved hard hat,safety glasses, steel toe boots, hearing protection, CSA approved respiratoryprotection, protective clothing and gloves, personal flotation device, hipwaders, goggles and ATV helmet. Vaccinations for rabies, hepatitis and tetanusare required.
