Under direct supervision of a registered professional engineer, creates basic to moderate complexity engineering-related designs for water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation, solid wastes, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc. Develops white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's Total Knowledge Management (TKM). Under general supervision of a registered professional engineer, creates basic to moderate complexity water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc. engineering-related designs to meet client project requirements.

Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.

Performs water quality analyses and modeling. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.

May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

Intermediate





Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.

Expert

Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Amount of Travel Required Background Check and Drug Testing Information In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions.

In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training. All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
