This position requires experience operating various types of heavy equipment in a construction environment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Follow directions from site supervisors to complete job tasks accurately.
- Load and unload materials, clear work areas, and assist with site preparation.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards.
- Communicate clearly with crew members and report equipment issues promptly.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or similar environment.
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent experience.
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots and required PPE.
- Solid understanding of safety procedures and hazard awareness.
- Reliable transportation to and from job site.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and terrain.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
