EXPERIENCED CARPENTER

Overview

At Central Precast we are driven by the core values of respect, collaboration, service, passion, and dedication. As a Carpenter, you will join our current team, to fabricate custom forms to specification for concrete precast manufacturing. Reporting to the Plant Supervisor/Manager, you will be a key member of the team, maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service.

Responsibilities

- Create/build custom forms/frames from start to finish to specifications,



maintaining the high standards of workmanship
- Work with hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to established safe working procedures and wearing the proper safety equipment always.
- Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects, and other concerns.
- Inspect equipment, ensure maintenance, and emphasize safety in all operations.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard environment.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education Required:

- High School Diploma

Years of Experience

- Must have at least 2-5 yrs experience doing carpentry related work within the construction or renovations industry

Specific Experience

- Must have experience and ability in drywall, finishing, flooring, framing, painting and related tasks are required.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and/or reliable transportation.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directions, work independently and with others are mandatory.
- Must have experience and ability to focus and accurately complete both complex and repetitive tasks.
- Must have experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Must possess experience and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
- Must have experience and ability working within physically demanding, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling environments

- Have the ability to be a punctual,



self-started with a strong work ethic.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work well with others in a team environment
- Have ability to work unsupervised, motivated to complete all tasks.
- Always maintain a professional attitude, especially when handling difficult and/or stressful situations
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Willing to work overtime as required.

Own Tools/Equipment

- Steel-toe safety boots (own)
- Vest (supplied)
- Glasses (supplied)
- Hard Hat (supplied)

Working Conditions

- Compensation $38.36–41.69/hr. (Includes benefits, vacation and pension, as per collective agreement)
- Annual Bonus
- Permanent, full-time, Monday-Friday, 44 hours / week , other as required
- Located in Ottawa, Ontario
