About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing building automation systems across various sites within Ontario. Your expertise will help ensure that our automation solutions operate efficiently and reliably, contributing to energy savings and operational excellence. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering, along with a passion for problem-solving and delivering exceptional service to clients.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. Proven knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems is essential, along with familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
and direct digital controllers (DDC). Candidates should have a solid understanding of electronic components and experience with general-purpose programming languages such as BASIC and C++. A valid driver1s license and the ability to work full-time in Sudbury, with willingness to travel within Ontario, are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also necessary. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in building automation, HVAC systems, Delta products, and knowledge of computer and telecommunication networks. Additional certifications such as WHMIS/SIMDUT 2015, Health and Safety, and Working at Heights courses are advantageous.
Responsibilities
The Field Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including establishing, monitoring, and implementing building control solutions focused on energy and operational efficiency. You will test and verify the quality of installations, perform system and equipment start-ups, and complete detailed documentation of all activities. Tuning PID loops and programming Delta digital control systems will be part of your routine, along with making graphical modifications to control interfaces. Calibration and maintenance of detection and actuation devices are critical to ensure system accuracy and reliability. You will also focus on product lifecycle services such as troubleshooting, repairing,
training end-users, and upgrading equipment. Installing and terminating control devices like control panels, sensors, actuators, and relays, as well as wiring and conduit installation, will be key responsibilities. Throughout your work, adherence to all health and safety policies is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment.
