Our client, a large financial institution, is seeking an Senior Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity, with high potential for extension.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and one floating day) at the downtown office. The role supports the Finance Controllership team with a focus on financial reporting integrity, loan accounting, and complex accounting investigations.

Responsibilities

Execute detailed loan contract accounting reviews

Perform financial analysis and provide variance explanations

Investigate accounting and control-related issues

Support reconciliations and month-end close processes

Ensure integrity of financial reporting and control setting

Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes

Must-Have Requirements

4+ years of experience within financial services institutions

Advanced Excel skills (formulas, VBA, Macros)





Strong experience investigating accounting issues and financial controls

Ability to manage large data sets with high attention to detail

Experience operating independently in a controllership environment

Nice-to-Have

Experience with loan loss provisions or insurance accounting

Experience with GL systems (Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle)

Strong knowledge of financial controls

CPA or equivalent with strong IFRS and financial reporting knowledge

Exposure to ACBS

Education & Certifications

Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred
