IWIL Ignite is a Global nonprofit initiative dedicated to building AI literacy and digital leadership for the future workforce across North America. The organization empowers students, professionals, and emerging leaders with practical, accessible education in Artificial Intelligence, digital skills, and responsible technology use. Programs focus on bridging the gap between innovation and real-world application, enabling individuals to understand, adopt, and lead with AI in their careers and communities.

IWIL Ignite emphasizes that digital literacy is foundational to opportunity, inclusion, and growth in an AI-driven world. Core program areas include AI literacy and hands-on learning, workforce upskilling, responsible and ethical AI adoption, and inclusive digital education.

Role Description The Founding Board Director — Volunteer Position is a remote role focused on strategic governance, mission alignment, and sustainable growth for IWIL Ignite. Day-to-day responsibilities may include participating in board and committee meetings, providing input on organizational strategy, and supporting program development in AI literacy and digital leadership. The Director will help shape policies and frameworks for responsible and inclusive technology education, contribute to fundraising and partnership efforts,



and advocate for IWIL Ignite within professional networks and communities.

This volunteer role also involves reviewing organizational performance, guiding risk management and compliance, and mentoring emerging leaders or volunteers as needed.

Qualifications

- Experience in nonprofit governance, board leadership, or advisory roles, with an understanding of strategic planning and oversight.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, digital skills, or technology education, and a robust interest in AI literacy and ethical technology use.
- Background in workforce development, education, or community initiatives, particularly in up-skilling, career readiness, or inclusive learning.
- Skills in partnership building, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, or advocacy to support organizational growth and visibility.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making abilities, with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and responsible leadership.
- Ability to contribute effectively in a remote, volunteer capacity, including reliable participation in virtual meetings and timely follow-through on board responsibilities.
- Prior experience as a founder, executive, educator, technologist, or impact-focused leader is beneficial but not required.
