Full-Time Opportunity Kamloops, BC (Site-Based) Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Rotation Travel & Accommodation: Travel and accommodation support available for site-based work Build Your Career Supporting World-Class Mining Operations Peter Lucas Project Management is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and support our client?s underground mining operations near Kamloops, BC. This is a permanent chance for a motivated geotechnical professional who wants to be directly involved in mine development, ground control, and operational decision-making. You will play a key role in supporting safe and efficient underground mining activities by providing technical expertise, field assessments, and practical geotechnical solutions.

Our team works on diverse projects across the mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors, providing opportunities to expand your technical knowledge, work alongside experienced professionals, and continue developing your career. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will support underground ramp development activities by evaluating ground conditions, optimizing support designs, and providing recommendations that directly impact safe mine operations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic site environment where your technical knowledge and engineering judgement will contribute to real-world mining solutions.

Provide geotechnical engineering support for underground ramp development and mining activities. Perform geotechnical assessments, field inspections, mapping, and data collection to evaluate ground conditions and excavation stability. Develop, review, and optimize ground support designs based on site conditions and geotechnical data.

Monitor ground behaviour and provide recommendations to support safe and efficient mining operations.



Analyze geotechnical information and communicate practical recommendations to mine operations and engineering teams. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ground control strategies and procedures.

Collaborate with mining engineers, supervisors, and site personnel to identify and manage geotechnical risks. Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and recommendations related to ground conditions and support systems. Participate in site safety initiatives and ensure compliance with mining safety standards and procedures.

Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related discipline. Professional engineering designation (P.Experience providing geotechnical engineering support in underground mining environments.

Experience with ground support design, excavation stability, and underground development activities. Knowledge of geotechnical monitoring techniques, instrumentation, and data interpretation. Ability to conduct field assessments and work effectively in an active mine site environment.

Strong understanding of underground mining practices, ground control principles, and safety requirements. Ability to work a 7 days on / 7 days off site rotation. s license and ability to travel to site as required. Full health and Dental Benefits.
