Required Qualifications Education & Certification - Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree - A certificate/degree or equivalent coursework in counselling will be considered an asset.

- Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience - Valid teaching certificate recognized by, or eligible for certification in Nunavut (International educated teachers who do not hold a Canadian teaching certificate must have their credentials evaluated through Candidates are not expected to meet every qualification; relevant experience and a commitment to community-centred education are valued.) Language and Cultural Assets - Ability to communicate in Inuktitut (verbal and written) - Experience teaching in a bilingual or ESL environment - Experience teaching in cross-cultural, or northern-Canada contexts - Experience supporting Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit-based education.

Teaching

Practice and Classroom Environment - Experience providing guidance to students on graduation requirements and course selection - Experience in differentiated instruction and inclusive practices - Training or experience using current assessment methods to guide learning - Experience in creating a positive learning workplace using classroom management practices and approaches (e.g. Restitution, Tribes, Positives Effective Behavior Supports) - Proficiency in the use of educational technology Relationships and Student Engagement - Experience in building respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and stakeholders - Experience in fostering student wellbeing and engagement - Experience in engaging with students beyond the classroom,



toward post-secondary and labour market opportunities Collaboration and professional practice - Experience in planning instruction and student supports through - Experience working collaboratively as part of a school team - Experience learning and contributing in a shared, community-focused Compensation and Benefits - Salary Range: $93,906 - $147,243 (based on experience) - Nunavut Northern Allowance for Whale Cove, Nunavut : $21,564 Conditions of Employment - Applicants currently employed by the Government of Nunavut must hold a valid Nunavut teaching certificate.

- Applicants from outside Nunavut must provide a copy of a current public-school teaching certificate from a Canadian jurisdiction recognized by the Nunavut Department of Education. Applications that do not include this documentation will not be considered.
- Successful candidates must provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) dated no more than six months prior to the start date as indicated above.
