Junior Health & Safety (HSE) Coordinator - Bilingual (English/French)

6-Month Temporary Contract

Location: Kirkland, QC (100% On-site)

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Reports to: HSE Manager

As we continue to strengthen our operational excellence, we are looking for a Bilingual Junior Health & Safety (HSE) Coordinator to support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Health & Safety Management System.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career HSE qualified who is eager to gain hands-on experience managing projects, improving processes, and partnering with manufacturing teams in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Position Overview

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Junior HSE Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Health & Safety initiatives across the Kirkland facility.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about creating a safe workplace. You will collaborate with managers, supervisors, and employees to implement HSE standards, coordinate projects, monitor corrective actions, and help foster a strong safety culture.

Because this role supports both English- and French-speaking employees, bilingualism (French and English) is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in developing, documenting, and implementing Health & Safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.




- Coordinate HSE improvement projects and monitor project timelines and deliverables.
- Support the deployment of new safety processes and ensure consistent implementation across departments.
- Participate in workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Track corrective and preventive actions and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Maintain HSE documentation, records, and compliance files.
- Prepare HSE reports, dashboards, KPIs, and presentations for management.
- Coordinate safety meetings, action plans, and follow-up activities.
- Support employee orientation, safety training, awareness campaigns, and communication initiatives.
- Promote a positive safety culture through collaboration with production, engineering, and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation and company standards.
- Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in Health & Safety, HSE, EHS, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) is required.




- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Assets

- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or aerospace environments.
- Knowledge of Quebec Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience developing procedures, work instructions, or process documentation.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
