Description
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Hotel Houseperson is responsible for maintaining an exceptionally clean and inviting environment for our hotel guests and responding to specific room supply requests in a timely manner. They must always adhere and work according to the policies, procedures, quality standards and services established by the management team for the satisfaction of internal and external guests.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of guest floors and linen area (vacuum guest hallways daily)
use proper chemicals, tools and equipment:
o Guest room floor corridors o Shampoo guest rooms and corridors o Floor closets/storage room o Service corridors o Elevators, tracks and landings o Guest vending areas - Wipe down all surfaces of vending machines, ice machines, and sweep and mop the floor.
o Stairwells, ensure that nothing is stored in stairwells
- Transport any Room Service trays/items in guest hallways to service elevator landings.
- Provide timely delivery of any items requested by guests. (Delivering linens, cots, extra amenities to guest rooms upon request) Retrieve items from guest rooms and return to proper storage areas, and respond to FD calls for cash pay room check (inspect the room and inform FD for any damages or smoking rooms)
- Ensure linen/terry delivery is completed equally for each floor
- Turn over any lost and found items to the Supervisor.
- Ensure security of any assigned keys, React Mobile and Radio.
- Ensure laundry for cleaning supplies cloths and rags and hotel linen (casino, hotel, F&B;) is done on an assigned basis
- Review assignment sheet and update completed assignments.
Check with Floor Supervisor and Housekeeping office for additional assignments throughout the shift
- Report any damage or other maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas to the supervisor
- Respond in a courteous and welcoming manner to guest questions
- Collect dirty glass and take them to the hotel kitchen stewarding dishwasher area and distribute the clean glasses to each floor.
- Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed
- Operate cleaning equipment in a safe manner following all standard operating procedures
- Maintain linen closets clean, stock and organize
- Ensure inventory of guest room products are stocked for room attendant cart
- Removing items from hallways and transporting to service areas, including debris, food and beverage trays, soiled linens and trash
- Ensures compliance with health and safety protocols and maintains a secure and healthy environment.
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience required with preference given to hotel environment
- Customer service experience required
- Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 11.5 kg or 25 lbs)
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment and laundry machines; and
- Must have a safety mindset for self and others.
Work Environment Considerations:
- Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
- Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position
- Must have employment eligibility in Canada.
