About this role As a HVAC Journeyperson at Carrier, you will play a vital role in delivering comfort and confidence to our customers, serving as the trusted face of our brand. Your expertise in Commercial HVAC will be essential as you take on a wide range of installation, repair, and maintenance projects. It’s an ideal role for someone passionate about their craft and eager to elevate their skills. This role is located in the Southwest ON Region Service Team based out of our Stoney Creek office, covering Mississauga, Niagara Falls, London - Windsor/Sarnia areas. Membership to the Local 787 Union is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities - Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations.

- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, AHUs, MUAs and split systems.
- Install, replace, or repair equipment, including calibrating thermostatic controls and adjusting low- and high-pressure liquid lines.
- Assist in planning new installations of HVAC equipment as required.
- Provide estimates of materials required.
- Participate in startup and commissioning of new units.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives.
- Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Escalate situations requiring guidance to Foreman or Service Manager or request additional support.
- Rig and set up gantry for safe lifting of equipment, overhauling pumps, and chillers.
- Participate in all required safety training and obtain necessary licenses.

Required Qualifications - HVAC/Trade School Diploma or Certification.

- Gas Fitter Level 1 License.
- Valid G‑Class Driver’s License.
- 313a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic License.
- Valid ODP and Working at Heights Certificates.
- 5+ years of HVAC maintenance experience, including installation, replacement, or repair of HVAC equipment.
- 5+ years of experience with air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers.
- Current member of, or eligible for, the Local 787 Union.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and routinely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, including the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and squat.

Preferred Qualifications - Basic understanding of building automation controls.

- Physical capability to work in a rapid‑paced, stop‑and‑go manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi‑task effectively.
- Alert, dependable, and safety‑focused.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to make quick decisions in support of a process‑oriented operation.





Pay Range The expected hourly salary range for this role is between $59.00 and $83.00 per hour. The rate of pay may be impacted by factors such as the applicant’s geographic location, market data, skills, prior relevant experience, job‑related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant considerations. This compensation includes a base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential overtime pay, and paid statutory leaves of absence.

Additional benefits may include insured health care, vision, dental, disability, and possible RRSP matching.

Other Compensation

This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of an annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission, or local incentive. If the role provides an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance, or other key performance indicators. Use of AI Technology‑enabled tools may support parts of the recruitment process, with oversight by people.
