Role Description

This full-time, in office HVAC Technician or Gasfitter role is based in HRM, NS.

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration systems, as well as performing gas fitting tasks according to safety regulations and industry standards. The role involves diagnosing equipment issues, conducting routine inspections, completing preventive maintenance, and responding to service calls in a timely manner. Technicians are expected to work with building controls, interpret technical documentation, and maintain accurate service records.



The position also requires regular interaction with customers, coordinating with dispatch and administrative staff, and adhering to company safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

- Technical skills in HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and gas fitting, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and building plans, and to work with building automation and control systems.

- Strong understanding of safety standards, codes, and regulations related to HVAC, refrigeration, and gas systems, with a commitment to safe work practices.

- Effective communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain work performed and provide clear recommendations.

- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple service calls, maintain detailed records, and coordinate with team members.

- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or gas fitting; journeyperson status or equivalent is an asset.

- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to customer sites in the region as required.

- Experience with commercial and residential systems, and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service.
