Requirements

Compensation

Steel Erectors are responsible for:

Study and understand structural blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the correct placement of steel components.

Verify measurements, weights, and positions of steel beams, columns, and other structures to ensure accurate installation.

Set up scaffolding, ladders, or temporary structures needed to access elevated work areas.

You may need to operate equipment such as(but not limited to)



Telehandlers, Articulating boom lifts, or Scissor lifts.

Ensure safety measures are in place, such as guardrails or harness systems, before beginning the erection process.

Assist with unloading and organizing steel materials in office, ensuring proper storage to prevent damage or loss.

Assemble steel frames and structures by bolting components together as per design specifications.

Install structural supports, steel columns, trusses, and beams at the required locations and levels.

Verify that all installed steel components are level, plumb, and aligned properly before securing them permanently.

Follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) like hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and harnesses.

Adhere to fall protection regulations and use fall arrest systems when working at heights.

Work closely with other construction teams, including welders, electricians, and carpenters, to ensure seamless collaboration and progress.

Maintain and repair tools and equipment used in the steel erection process, ensuring they are in good working order.

Work efficiently to ensure that steel erection tasks are completed on time, coordinating with other trades to prevent delays.

Be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
