Role Summary
We are seeking a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our team on various construction projects. The Instrumentation Journeyman is committed to delivering secure, high-quality work that meets and exceeds client expectations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, and customer satisfaction, along with proven experience producing accurate, detail-oriented work in support of client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and calibrate industrial instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, including continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS)
- Perform installation and calibration, of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, control valves, controllers, PLCs, and protective relays
- Support and maintain power generation and industrial equipment, including gas turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary systems
- Read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical schematics, control system drawings, manuals, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and external contractors during installations, start-ups, and shutdowns
- Communicate equipment condition, safety concerns, and job status clearly to operations and supervision
- Perform all work in compliance with Health & Safety standards, OHS regulations, and company policies
- Other duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate; Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical principles, voltage/current relationships
- Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems (programming and troubleshooting)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs;
- Experience in gas plants, power plants, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Proficient with test and calibration equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes)
- Skilled using hand tools and electrical tools for installation and maintenance
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and weekends, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: $47.30 - $54.55 Based on Experience
- Shift: 7 on and 7 off
- Travel Allowance:$300
- Accommodations: Camp Provided
- Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate.
