Tharavadu Home of Kerala Cuisine is an authentic South Indian restaurant dedicated to serving traditional Kerala and South Indian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and genuine flavors. We are looking for a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team.

Job Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian and Kerala dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning meats, seafood, vegetables, and spices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented consistently during busy service hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment in accordance with Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food inventory and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
- Properly store food items and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and excellent customer service.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing kitchen supplies.




- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Line Cook, preferably in a South Indian or Kerala restaurant.
- Knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, spices, curries, dosa, idli, appam, parotta, biryani, seafood, and traditional Kerala cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg when required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Requirements
- Previous commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
