LABOURER - UTILITIES CONSTRUCTION

The District Of West Vancouver's Engineering Construction Department Currently Have Temporary Full-time Labourer Positions Available To Join Our Utilities Construction Team. The Successful Candidate Will Perform a Variety Of Manual Tasks Working In The Utilities Construction Department. These Tasks Can Include

- Performing a variety of tasks in the construction or operation of water, sewer and storm utility systems;
- Locating and repairing leaks, assisting in the installation, repair, and servicing of water, sewer and storm systems;
- cleaning trucks and equipment as needed;
- maintaining equipment in a protected and secure manner;
- operating basic hand and power tools; such as, shovels, pipe saws, plate tamper, etc.;
- maintaining daily pick-up records;
- provide manual labourer assistance on various tasks and assignments;
- other related duties as required.





The Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate The Ability To
- Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment while maintaining a safety first mentality;
- use a variety of tools for general maintenance and construction work;
- work outdoors in a physically demanding role in all types of weather conditions;

Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following credentials:
- Experience or training in utilities construction;
- EOCP Certification;
- Possession of a valid Class 1 or 3 BC Drivers Licence

The candidates must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driver's abstract, a police information check, and copies of relevant credentials.

Hours Of Work

40 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Starting Rate Of Pay

$30.88 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits

This position has a pay structure with three steps which increase based on hours completed in the position.
