Nanaimo Watergardens & Landscaping | Nanaimo, BC

$25+/hour | Approximately 40 hours/week (Project-based)

Nanaimo Watergardens is looking for someone to join our landscape construction crew for project-based work through August and beyond.

We are a professional landscaping company that specializes in creating meaningful lanscapes centred around our custom water features. We prioritize creativity, craftsmanship and quality service.

Our current project is in Duncan. Our projects are located throughout central Vancouver Island, from Duncan to Qualicum Beach.

This is project-based work. When we're on a project, you can expect approximately 40 hours per week.

What You'll Be Doing

Building pondless waterfalls, fountains and ecosystem ponds, and surrounding landscaping. Your tasks may include:

- Excavation and site preparation
- Moving and setting natural stone and boulders
- Planting trees, shrubs and perennials
- Building retaining walls, patios and decks
- Installing landscape lighting
- Using hand and power tools
- General landscape construction labour, including shoveling and moving materials

Who We're Looking For Experience in landscaping, construction, carpentry, stonework or equipment operation is an asset, but isn't required. We're happy to teach someone who is capable, professional and ready to learn. We're looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and punctual




- Is able to work physically in all weather for 8 hours per day
- Wants to learn current skills
- Takes pride in doing good work
- Pays attention to details
- Can take direction and work independently
- Is professional, service oriented, and communicates well
- Enjoys building things and has a problem solving approach to challenges

Reliable transportation is strongly preferred, and a valid driver's licence is an asset. You must be legally able to work in Canada.

Pay

Starting at $25/hour; open tonegotation after training.

About Us

We're a small Nanaimo-based landscape construction company that serves the mid-island and specializes in natural water features. We care about craftsmanship, creativity and building landscapes that reflect the natural beauty of their surroundings.

You'll work directly with the owner, directly contributing to building beautiful water features and lanscapes, learning about water feature design and installation while working on some pretty interesting projects.
