Company Description Peace Valley Line Locating is a specialized service provider in the Fort St John, BC region. We focus on accurately identifying and marking underground utilities and pipelines to help clients minimize risk and comply with safety standards. Team members work closely with contractors, utility owners, and project managers.

Role Description The Line Locating Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort St John, BC. In this position, the assistant supports line locators in the field by helping identify, mark, and document underground utilities and pipelines. Day-to-day tasks include carrying and organizing tools and equipment, and assisting with flagging, painting, and staking utility locations.

The role involves driving to work sites, walking and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, following safety procedures, and communicating with the lead locator. The assistant also helps maintain equipment, keeps accurate records of completed work, and contributes to a protected, organized work environment.

Qualifications

- Possess current safety tickets: CSO, H2S, First Aid.




- Experience operating ATVs, UTV's and Snowmobiles is considered an asset.
- Candidates should possess physical ability to work outdoors, walk on uneven terrain, lift and carry equipment, and perform repetitive tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Candidates should possess basic technical aptitude, such as learning to use line locating equipment, handheld tools, and mobile devices or tablets for data entry.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for travel to work sites.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, utilities, or related field work is an asset but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- a dependable work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
- Candidates should possess strong safety awareness, including willingness to follow safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and identify potential hazards on job sites.
- Candidates should possess reliable teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to work closely with a lead locator, respond to direction, and interact professionally with clients and site personnel.

Schedule

Monday to Friday

Must be available for weekends as needed
