Duration 7 Months Position Summary Reporting to the Chair, the Manager, Academic Programs (MAP) provides operational support to academic programs, faculty and students. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administration of assigned programs, contribute to strategic initiatives, oversee operational activities and foster a positive learning environment that supports student success. This temporary opportunity supports the School of Environmental & Civil Engineering Technology and Fire Protection Engineering Technology and requires regular travel between Seneca's Newnham and King campuses.
Here’s Some Of What Your Role Will Involve Lead and support special projects and initiatives related to school operations, academic planning, departmental business priorities, and continuous improvement efforts, fostering innovation and operational effectiveness. Coordinate faculty contract hiring and onboarding processes in collaboration with Chairs and Human Resources, ensuring timely recruitment and documentation. Conduct reviews and analyses of academic programs, enrolment trends, student outcomes, retention metrics, and operational data to support evidence-informed decision-making and program effectiveness.
Support centralized academic processes, including admissions, registration, timetabling, student progression, quality assurance, accreditation, and program review activities. Collaborate with Academic Chairs, Program Coordinators, faculty, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for program enhancements, operational improvements, and initiatives that support student success and align with industry and institutional priorities. Monitor course enrolment, resource utilization,
and related fiscal information to support operational planning, budget discussions, and effective resource management.
Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and briefing materials to support school operations, strategic initiatives, and decision-making. Serve as a key liaison between academic departments and central service areas, facilitating communication, resolving operational issues, and ensuring effective implementation of institutional processes. Provide guidance to faculty regarding academic procedures, classroom management concerns, interpretation of academic policies, student accommodation processes, and available institutional resources.
Support faculty onboarding, curriculum delivery, academic projects, and operational initiatives by coordinating resources, communications, and administrative processes. Meet with students experiencing academic challenges, facilitate informal resolution of academic concerns, and connect students with appropriate supports and services to promote academic success. Coordinate operational activities across the Newnham and King campuses, supporting program delivery within classroom, laboratory, shop, and specialized technical learning environments.
What You
Bring to Seneca Overall, 5+ years of experience in Academic Programs or relevant area Experience coordinating academic programs, ideally in a postsecondary or continuing education setting Demonstrated ability to support teams, with a collaborative and people-first approach A postsecondary diploma or degree in education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Solid organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to embed these principles into academic operations and student experience Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and stakeholders Job Details External Posting Date July 31, 2026 External Closing Date August 7, 2026 Job Type Contract,

The compensation step will be determined based on receiving and verifying relevant formal education through official transcripts and relevant work experience, in accordance with the salary placement calculation process.
