This role is a net new role that is advisory-focused and will support complex tariff, origin, valuation, and trade remedy matters across a national client base.We are looking for a technically strong customs professional who can work directly with clients to navigate challenging customs matters and manage disputes arising from customs audits and help develop defense strategies.Your ResponsibilitiesAs part of BDO’s CITS team, you will:Advise clients on surtax/tariff exposure, customs compliance, and trade strategy across Canadian and U.S. regimesAnalyze classification, valuation, origin, and trade remedy risksDevelop defensible technical positions and draft advisory memorandaLead and support clients through CBSA verifications, and dispute resolution mattersDesign and implement customs compliance frameworks and internal controlsCommunicate directly with clients and regulatory authoritiesCollaborate with tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border teams across CanadaContribute to practice development, knowledge management, and coaching of junior staffThis role involves both technical analysis and client-facing advisory responsibilities.Your Experience and QualificationsUniversity or college degree/diploma in a Customs and International Trade disciplineMinimum 3–5 years of experience in customs advisory, international trade compliance, or regulatory dispute resolutionDemonstrated experience handling customs issue resolution and verificationsExperience at a qualified services firm, CBSA,
