Job Summary
The Forensic Accountant’s primary responsibility is to use their accounting, auditing, valuation, and investigative skills to review and analyze financial data, prepare financial schedules, and reports for our clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Review and analyze financial data to find discrepancies or irregularities.
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for insured losses, including cyber and property business interruption, fidelity/employee dishonesty/crime, stock losses, accident benefits, disability advantages, and loss of income.
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for litigation cases,
such as family law, expropriation, contract/shareholder/dispute, intellectual property, and loss quantification.
- Assist with investigations, arbitrations, audits, risk assessments, and fraud investigations in private and public sectors.
- Perform financial analysis related to legal disputes.
- Respond to client inquiries promptly.
- Meet deadlines and time budgets per file.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Participate in conferences, events, presentations, and proposals.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- Strong analytical, accounting, and auditing skills.
- 1-3+ years experience in forensic accounting for junior roles.
- CPA designation or working towards CPA; CBV, CFF are assets.
- CFE designation is an asset.
