Become a mentor for the Youth in Care program with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves mentoring youth involved with Children Services, helping them navigate their lives.
As a volunteer, you'll commit to spending quality time weekly or biweekly with one child, participating in activities that resonate with both of you. Your efforts aim to create healthy, positive relationships that can lead to improved outcomes in their lives. Key Responsibilities:
- Commit to a minimum 1-year mentoring relationship
- Engage in fun activities reflecting mutual interests
- Provide support during transitions in the child's life
- Attend training and complete required background checks
- Be a reliable friend and resource for the child Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Successfully complete a police and child welfare check
- Attend a 2-hour screening interview
- Participate in training seminars
- Hold a valid Driver's License Make a positive impact in the community by supporting youth in government care through dedicated mentoring.
