Fire protection in a nuclear environment is a specialized discipline. The codes are specific, the compliance requirements are layered, and the consequences of getting it wrong are serious. Demand for qualified fire protection professionals across Ontario's nuclear sites has been consistent and continues to grow as major refurbishment and construction programs ramp up. We are building this pipeline because these roles are genuinely difficult to fill in the open market.

Raise is building a pipeline of Fire Protection Engineers and Specialists for contract opportunities with a leading enterprise organization operating nuclear and industrial facilities across Ontario. This is not a live posting for a single role.

About the Prospect

Multiple nuclear sites in Ontario are actively seeking fire protection professionals to support refurbishment programs, new construction, and ongoing site compliance. These roles require engineers and specialists who understand the technical requirements of CSA N293, NFPA, and the National Fire Code - and who can apply that knowledge in a complex, heavily regulated operational environment. The demand spans multiple sites and multiple programs, and it is not going away anytime soon.

What You Could Be Working On

- Conducting fire hazard assessments and fire safe shutdown analyses
- Ensuring site compliance with CSA N293, CSA N393, NFPA, and National Fire Code requirements
- Developing, reviewing, and updating fire protection procedures, standards, and instructions
- Supporting fire risk assessments and reviewing system impairment documentation
- Providing technical guidance to management and fire protection staff on systems, equipment, and lifecycle
- Preparing CNSC correspondence and corrective action plans
- Supporting interface with external fire protection and emergency response groups

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering — Mechanical, Electrical, Civil,

or Fire Protection preferred
- 4 to 10+ years of experience in fire protection engineering or related safety systems
- Strong working knowledge of CSA N293, NFPA codes, and the National Fire Code of Canada
- Experience in compliance, regulatory, or inspection-focused roles
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility is an asset

Why Apply Now

Fire protection roles at nuclear sites have posted and reposted repeatedly because the qualified candidate pool is small. If you have the background, you are already ahead of most applicants.

Experience in nuclear facilities, industrial plants, or other regulated environments is a strong asset. Candidates with existing nuclear security clearance or prior site experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Location:

Pickering, Darlington, Bowmanville, Tiverton - primarily onsite with some hybrid options

Contract Length:

Typically 12 to 24 months, with strong likelihood of extension
