Experience - Recent Labour/Delivery/Recovery nursing experience or one (1) year combined mother-baby care experience required.
- Recent Operating Room nursing experience preferred. Nurses currently working on the unit will be deemed qualified.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) - Successful completion of the AORN Periop 101 online course or equivalent Operating Room training/experience is preferred. Applicants without previous Operating Room training/experience must successfully complete the AORN Periop 101 online course within three months of the date of employment. Extensions may be granted up to six months in special circumstances. Certification/Licensure/Registration - Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in qualified associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred. Successful completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or mutually agreed upon with the nurse is required.
Qualifications and Skills - Bilingualism required (ability to understand and speak English and French).
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
The candidate must be able to understand and speak French at a proficiency level that allows them to sustain varied in-depth conversations with patients and families. Language proficiency will be evaluated to assess the applicant's proficiency level. For more information on the required proficiency level, contact the Human Resources Department. Physical Requirements - Please be advised this position may be required to work evenings and weekends. This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective bargaining agreement. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
