Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Area Control Centre Operations (ACC), the Operations Duty Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Air Traffic Services (ATS) personnel, equipment, and administrative functions. The role accounts for the day of operation at the ACC, Towers, Flight Service Specialist (FSS), Flight Information Centre (FIC) and Air Traffic Operations Specialist (ATOS) service delivery to stakeholders to ensure cohesive operation for the day, and keeps the National Operations Centre (NOC) informed of any issues and suggested mitigations.

Responsibilities - Ensure operational safety, service, and quality of Air Traffic Services in collaboration with ACC, MATO, MTTO, and various managers.

- Evaluate daily service delivery performance and report to the MACCO, MATO, and NOC.
- Assist Site and Specialty Supervisors with interpretation of ATSAMM, MATS, CARs requirements and elevate requests for interpretation as required.
- Identify, plan and direct daily operations during non‑normal events (airport or runway closures, major weather events, flight inspections, partial or full CNS‑ATM equipment failures, implementation of new ATS technology, aircraft incidents/accidents, etc.), in partnership with ANS Technology Services, ATM Engineering, CNS Engineering, Technology Infrastructure, and ATS Standards.
- Notify stakeholders of affected facilities, equipment or environmental discrepancies/outages and emergencies/unusual situations that may impact the facility(ies).
- Identify resource requirements to deliver day‑of‑operation services and execute productivity and service delivery improvements within budget.
- Manage ATS staff during the day‑of‑operation, including matching daily staff requirements to traffic, hiring overtime, allocating operational priorities,



providing guidance and coaching to staff, approving ad‑hoc leave, and taking disciplinary action as required.

Qualifications - Education: Successful completion of secondary school, or equivalent.

- Experience: 3 years supervisory or management experience in the aviation industry.
- Knowledge: Extensive management experience in an aviation operational environment; understanding of the aviation industry; knowledge of the Canadian Air Navigation System and Air Traffic Management.
- Skills: Operational skill to prioritize delivery of ATS Services when multiple demands exist; effective written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills and judgement; strong leadership and team skills; strong analytic and decision‑making skills; ability to work across organizational boundaries; exceptional customer service orientation; ability to collaborate and influence at all levels; build consensus among stakeholders.

Working Conditions This position, based at the Montreal ACC, is an on‑site role requiring presence on site. Shifts are normally scheduled between 0530 and 2300 hrs, with occasional overnight standby duty outside of normal working hours. The position is not eligible for a adaptable work arrangement.
