Tiny Hoppers Early Learning Centre is looking for an enthusiastic French Teacher to join our team and introduce children to the French language through fun, engaging, and interactive activities.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and creating a positive, playful learning environment. The role is part-time (approximately 3 hours per day, Monday–Friday).

Opportunity for Full time Employment

If you are a certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE Level 1, 2, or 3) and are interested in full-time work, we can combine this role with Float Staff responsibilities. Float staff support classrooms throughout the centre, assist educators, and step into child-to-staff ratios when needed.

Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging French language activities for children aged 12 months to 5 years
- Teach basic French through songs, games, stories, music, movement, and play
- Create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Encourage children's confidence and interest in learning French
- Work collaboratively with classroom educators to integrate French into the daily routine

Float Staff (Full-Time Opportunity)

- Support educators across Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten classrooms
- Help supervise children during learning activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain licensing ratios
- Follow all daycare policies and Alberta licensing requirements

Requirements





- Fluency in French (spoken required; written an asset)
- Experience working with young children (teaching, daycare, tutoring, nannying, or similar)
- Positive, patient, energetic, and engaging personality
- Reliable and punctual
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain)

Nice to Have

- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1, 2, or 3
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Previous childcare or daycare experience
- Experience teaching French to young children

Schedule Part-Time French Teacher

- Monday – Friday
- Approximately 3 hours per day
- Morning or afternoon schedule may be flexible

Full-Time Option (ECE Candidates)

- Monday – Friday
- French instruction plus Float Staff responsibilities
- Shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Compensation

- Competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience
- Additional hours available for qualified ECE candidates interested in a full-time position
