About the Opportunity
- Process weekly payroll for hourly employees and bi-weekly payroll for salaried employees using Dayforce.
- Process payroll based on approved time and earning data, including regular hours, overtime, premiums, annual bonuses, sales commissions, vacation pay, PTO, sick, statutory holiday pay and other special payments as required in accordance with established company practices and procedures.
- Review, validate and process HR-entered employee lifecycle changes in Dayforce, including new hires, terminations, benefit changes, and leaves of absence, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and coordination with HR to resolve any discrepancies.
- Process off-cycle payments, retroactive pay adjustments, and final payments.
- Reconcile payroll registers and investigate discrepancies before payroll submission.
- Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs) in accordance with Service Canada requirements.
- Preparation of all payments and remittances for source deductions( including WSIB,CNNEST). Prepare Payroll JE’s.
- Prepare group pension contribution reports and supporting spreadsheets based on payroll data and Dayforce reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to submission for Controller review and remittance.
- Work with the Controller and Accounting Manager on system testing, upgrades, and process improvements.
Year-End Processing
- Prepare year-end payroll reconciliations, including verification of taxable benefits and year-end adjustments to ensure accuracy of payroll records
- Prepare, generate, reconcile, and submit T4, T4A, and Quebec RL-1 slips, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CRA and Revenue Québec requirements.
- Support annual payroll audits and reporting requirements by providing required documentation, reconciliations, and responding to audit inquiries.
About You
- Minimum 2–3 years of Canadian payroll experience with payroll of 200+ employees
- Demonstrated experience processing multi-provincial payroll.
- Hands-on experience with Dayforce Payroll.
- Experience administering both hourly and salaried payroll groups.
- Solid knowledge of: o CRA payroll requirements
- Canadian payroll legislation
- Employment standards across multiple provinces
- ROEs, T4s, taxable benefits, and year-end processing
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for payroll reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Superb communication skills, both written and oral
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, displays a positive professional attitude & work ethic.
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision, with skills in organization and time management.
Pay Range
$70,000 - $75,000 per year
