Position: Global Payroll Implementation Lead
Location: Toronto or Waterloo, ON (Hybrid – 2–3 Days/Week)
Duration: Contract
Rate: $60/hour to $65/hour

We are seeking an experienced Global Payroll Implementation Lead to manage a large-scale global transformation initiative involving vendor consolidation, process optimization, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination. This is a highly visible role requiring a robust project leader who can drive execution, manage complex dependencies, and ensure successful adoption across multiple regions and business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end implementation and transformation initiatives across multiple regions.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, and go-live schedules.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, and external partners.
- Act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery and operational readiness.
- Oversee testing cycles, issue resolution, readiness assessments, and deployment activities.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure deliverables are completed according to project timelines and business requirements.
- Facilitate governance forums, project status reviews, risk management, and executive reporting.
- Drive change management activities including stakeholder communications, training coordination, and adoption planning.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Support transition planning and post-implementation stabilization activities.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in Project Management, HR Transformation, HRIS Implementation, Operations Transformation, or large-scale enterprise programs.
- Proven experience leading complex implementation or migration projects within multinational organizations.
- Experience managing multi-country or multi-vendor transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of project governance, process optimization, testing methodologies, and operational readiness.
- Experience working with enterprise systems and technology implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong change management and organizational readiness experience.
- Exceptional analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
