General Physician/Emergency - Urgent Primary Care Clinic Work Site Richmond Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) Permanent - Part Time (Minimum Of 0.2 FTE Required) Clinical Service Contract Come work as an Urgent Primary Care Clinic Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work in a part-time position at a rapidly growing Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Richmond. The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).
Richmond UPCC is a busy clinic seeing patients of all ages. Richmond UPCC is open 365 days a year with hours of operation 0800-2200 Monday to Saturday (including statutory holidays) and 0900-1700 on Sundays. UPCC provides team-based care with physicians working closely with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and social workers.
Diagnostics on site include X-ray, ECG, slit lamp, point of care ultrasound, and point of care urine testing. Specialist support and referrals are available through Richmond Hospital. Patients will be supported to find primary care provider if unattached.
The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement.
Current
College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Emergency Experience - Desired Combines current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a transparent understanding of the role and importance of foundational primary care and is able to integrate the two. Training in Opioid Agonist Therapy is an asset but not mandatory. As per Ministry of Health policy,
all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
