What you’ll do
As a Power Engineer 3rd class, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape. Your day-to-day:
- Operate and maintain steam boiler, and other utility equipment in accordance with MB Safety Authority regulations.
- Prepare and monitor starch batches used in the manufacturing process, ensuring proper consistency, quality, and supply for production needs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues within the steam plant.
- Monitor and record system readings, maintain logbooks, and report any abnormalities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Support other maintenance tasks and participate in plant shutdowns and startups.
- Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Your strengths as a Power Engineer 3rd class
You are a natural fit for this role if:
- A valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate MB is required for this position.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Able to read and understand specifications and drawings and computer literacy.
- Thorough understanding of Safety program procedures
- Able to work with minimum supervision
