Role Overview A Private Tax Manager in PwC’s Private Practice advises private companies and family businesses on local tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant and helping clients manage tax obligations. The role focuses on reviewing personal trusts, corporate income tax returns, and other tax reporting forms while ensuring high-quality client service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities - Analyze unstructured problems and develop explicit, actionable plans.

- Coach, develop, retain, and mentor junior tax professionals.
- Switch between big‑picture strategy and precision‑level detail.
- Anticipate stakeholder needs and test proactive solutions.
- Contribute deep technical tax knowledge to every engagement.
- Fuse human insight with technology to deliver smarter, faster results.
- Navigate and lead across diverse teams, industries, and complex engagements.
- Initiate and lead candid conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust.
- Manage the efficient delivery of tax consulting and compliance engagements.




- Maintain the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.

Qualifications - Canadian CPA (or CA/other relevant designation) or Master’s in Tax.

- Completed Levels I–III of the CPA In‑Depth Tax Course (preferred).
- Expertise in corporate tax, ideally focused on private corporations.
- Experience in public accounting (valuable).
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Entrepreneurial and tech‑curious mindset, committed to upskilling.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and juggle multiple assignments.

Compensation Salary range: $84,700 – $134,700 (based on location, skills, and experience). Variable incentive pay opportunities may also be available.
