Position: Programs & Social Coordinator

Status: Full-Time

Location: Greater Toronto Area (Remote and Community-Based)

Work Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, with evening availability and occasional Sundays as required.

Position Summary The Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA) is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and creative Programs & Social Coordinator to support the delivery of our grassroots hockey and ball hockey programs while contributing to HDA's marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives.

Working as part of HDA's broader program team, this role supports the successful delivery of community programs, communications, and special events while helping create exceptional experiences for participants, families, coaches, volunteers, and community partners.

This position combines remote administrative work with regular travel to HDA program locations, partner sites, and community events throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

The successful candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and enjoys working directly with youth while balancing administrative responsibilities, program support, and content creation.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination

- Support the planning and delivery of HDA's grassroots hockey and ball hockey programs.
- Assist with participant registration and family communications.
- Prepare weekly program materials, attendance records, and equipment.
- Support program preparation by organizing equipment, participant resources, program materials, and site logistics before and after weekly programming.
- Support coaches, volunteers, and participants throughout each program season.
- Assist with equipment organization and inventory management.
- Help ensure programs are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently.

On-Site Program Support
- Attend HDA programs on a rotating schedule across multiple locations each week.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, coaches, volunteers, and facility staff.
- Monitor program quality and participant experience.
- Capture high-quality photos and videos during programs and special events for use across HDA's communications and social media platforms.




- Serve as a qualified and welcoming ambassador for HDA within the community.

Marketing & Communications
- Support the development and maintenance of HDA's social media content calendar.
- Create engaging graphics, photos, videos, reels, stories, and other digital content.
- Capture and edit content from HDA programs and special events.
- Publish content across HDA's social media platforms.
- Promote upcoming programs, registration periods, partnerships, and special events.
- Assist with newsletters, promotional materials, email communications, and other marketing initiatives.
- Monitor engagement and respond to social media inquiries when appropriate.
- Organize and maintain digital program records, photos, videos, and marketing assets to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and available to support communications, partnerships, reporting, and future organizational needs.
- Regularly organize and archive digital content captured through HDA programs and special events.

Access+ Program Coordination
- Coordinate HDA's Access+ experiences through Kids Up Front.
- Communicate available opportunities with participating families.
- Manage registrations, confirmations, and participant communications.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting.

Community Events
- Support the planning and delivery of HDA special events and community initiatives.
- Support event logistics, including participant registration, equipment preparation, volunteer support, and event-day operations.
- Assist with volunteer coordination.
- Assist with event setup and teardown.
- Represent HDA at community outreach opportunities and special events.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in recreation, sport management, communications, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with youth, sport organizations,



community-based programs, or non-profit organizations is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience creating digital content using Canva and social media platforms.
- Comfortable capturing photos and videos using a smartphone or camera.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Passion for community development, equity, inclusion, and youth sport.

Pay: $57,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
