Reporting to the Supervisor - Mine Operations, the Drill Operator is for responsible safely and efficiently operating pioneering and production DTH drill rigs.

Location: Blackwater Mine site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Employment Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

- Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds' safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.

- Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.

- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of personal

protective equipment (PPE).

- Operate equipment in a safe manner following company policies and procedures.

- Complete job hazards assessments.

- Always maintain awareness of surroundings, mitigate hazards and report hazards to supervisor.

- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures.





- Perform safety inspections to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe for operating.

- Record all inspections in equipment logbook and report equipment deficiencies to dispatch & supervisor.

- Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify and address mechanical issues

promptly.

- Communicate effective with team and supervisor via positive radio communications.

- Safely & efficiently onboard/offboard fluids used in the drilling process.

- Safely & efficiently tool up drilling rigs with various tooling based on specific drill plans.

- Interpret written assignments, maps & drill plans.

- Adopt & participate in company’s short interval controls.

- Monitor key performance indicators and continuously striving for improvement.

- Maintain a clean and organized work setting, including the equipment and

surrounding areas.

- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and other company initiatives topromote a culture of safety.

- May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Formal heavy equipment operator training preferred




- Experience operating equipment in a mining environment
- Proficiency in operating and maneuvering a diverse range of heavy equipment, with competency on 3 or more pieces of equipment including ancillary equipment.
- Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
- Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
- Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
- Ability to read survey stakes & interpret plans.
- Be prepared to actively participate in positive and safe working atmosphere
- OFA 3 and/or Mine Rescue Certification is considered an asset
- Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
