The Head of Technology Delivery, reporting directly to the CIO, is responsible for overseeing the initiation, planning, and execution of all Business-IT projects and programs. This role demands active involvement to uphold CanDeal delivery standards while focusing on developing high-quality solutions and successful outcomes. Responsibilities include ensuring the end-to-end delivery process is consistently executed to CanDeal standards, from requirements gathering and development through vendor co‑ordination, deployment and transition to production support. The role is deliberately both strategic and execution‑oriented. It is intended to complement, not duplicate, existing development leadership — strengthening enterprise‑wide delivery, consistency, and alignment as CanDeal scales.

Primary Responsibilities

- Primary contact for Business-IT delivery across all three major businesses: Markets Trading, Data & Analytics, and Solutions (incubated business services).
- Collaborate closely with the business stakeholders and the technology groups to steer and manage Business-IT projects from inception to delivery.
- Cascade the strategies from the CIO and business partners to develop roadmaps that ensure efficient resource allocation and sufficient necessary skillset.
- Develop and own a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap across the business domains, including core application platform enhancement and underlying supporting infrastructure modernization.
- Lead and coordinate cloud migration and adoption across Markets and the broader technology organization.




- Partner with development heads to deliver solutions, supporting design, development and implementation.
- Ensure all project delivery processes and support structures are established, potential solution gaps are addressed, and the software development lifecycle is enforced throughout.
- Drive enterprise architecture and rationalization of common, shared components across business‑technology domains to maximize reuse and consistency.
- Co‑manage relationships with all external vendors during project builds and post‑production stage.
- Support the Risk and Compliance department with regulatory activities and inquiries.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in IT‑related field is required.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of related experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Business management training is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor staff.
- Deep, hands‑on capital markets domain expertise, with a proven track record of planning, resourcing,



managing and delivering large‑scale mission‑critical financial technology projects.
- Ability to grasp the overall big picture while also delving into specific project details within complex systems.
- Proven technology skills and superb analytical skills, with the ability to think outside the box to resolve problems.
- Strong understanding and experience in multi‑threaded messaging, RESTful API, FIX, high‑throughput, low‑latency systems, data analytics and web applications.
- Solid proven development experience in languages and services like Java, Python, SQL, AWS and Azure directory services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively clarify complex technical issues and concepts in a business‑friendly manner to various audiences.
- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a time‑sensitive environment and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, as well as independently.
- Must be available for after‑hours support, typically through remote.
