The Project
Manager will oversee the foundational planning for Calgary’s involvement in the 2028 World Cup of Hockey, working closely with NHL, NHLPA, and government stakeholders.
Starting
August 2026, this role involves developing project plans, budgets, governance structures, and key engagement strategies while serving as the operational lead before the Executive Director's arrival in February 2027. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the master project plan for the World Cup
- Establish reporting protocols and documentation standards
- Create detailed work-back schedules and milestone trackers
- Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets
- Support negotiations with government and funding partners Requirements:
- 7+ years in project management or event operations
- Experience in sports administration and large-scale events
- Proven leadership in budget and procurement management
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in project management software Play a pivotal role in shaping Calgary's sporting legacy through effective project management and stakeholder engagement.
